Privacy policy

Summary: this site has no sign-up and no form, and stores no cookies in your browser. The only thing recorded is a visit count with no identification attached. If you never write to us, no personal data of yours is here.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller for this site is Pablo Luis da Mota Nora, registered in Brazil under CNPJ (company number) 28.070.338/0001-39, trading as Petaflop, based in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
The same person acts as the data protection officer required by article 41 of Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Lei 13.709/2018, the LGPD). For anything about privacy, write to contato@petaflop.com.br.
2. What this site collects
Visit statistics, with no identification
We use GoatCounter to know how many people read each page. It collects the following:
- it sets no cookies, here or anywhere else;
- it does not store your IP address — the address is only used to derive a temporary marker, rotated daily, so that the same visit isn't counted twice on the same day;
- it builds no profile, does not follow you across sites and feeds no advertising;
- it records: the page path, where the click came from (if anywhere), the browser and operating system your browser declares, an approximate screen size, and the country.
That data is statistical and aggregated, and does not identify you. If your browser sends the Do Not Track signal, the counter is never even loaded.
Cookies
None. This site stores no cookies, uses no local storage for tracking, and loads no pixels, social buttons or third-party fonts. That is why there is no consent banner: there is no cookie to consent to.
Email you send us
If you write to one of our addresses, we then hold your email address, your name (if you sign it) and whatever you wrote. We use that to reply and to keep the thread, and for nothing else. It goes on no mailing list and is never sold, rented or handed on.
Server logs
The server that delivers these pages keeps technical access logs, as article 15 of Brazil's Internet Civil Framework (Lei 12.965/2014) requires. They are operational logs, used for security and diagnostics, and are never cross-referenced with the visit statistics.
3. On what legal basis
- Legitimate interest (LGPD art. 7, IX) for aggregate visit statistics and server security — without that minimum there is no way to know whether the site works or to defend it from abuse.
- Pre-contractual steps and performance of a contract (art. 7, V) to answer your email when the subject is buying or using a product.
- Compliance with a legal obligation (art. 7, II) for the server access logs.
4. Who we share it with
Nobody, for commercial purposes. The only third parties involved are the technical providers the site needs in order to exist: GoatCounter, which counts visits and is operated outside Brazil, and the hosting and email providers. None of them receives your data for their own use, and no data is sold.
Beyond that, we only share if compelled by a court order or a lawful request from a competent authority.
5. How long we keep it
- Visit statistics: kept in aggregate, with no set expiry, because they identify no one.
- Email: for as long as the matter lasts and for as long as the correspondence may be needed to evidence what was agreed. If you ask us to delete it and no legal obligation prevents that, we delete it.
- Server logs: for the minimum six months set by the Internet Civil Framework.
6. Your rights
Article 18 of the LGPD gives you the right, at any time and free of charge, to request:
- confirmation that processing exists, and access to the data;
- correction of incomplete, inaccurate or out-of-date data;
- anonymisation, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data;
- portability to another provider;
- deletion of data processed on the basis of your consent;
- information about who the data has been shared with;
- withdrawal of consent, where consent is the basis.
To exercise any of these, write to contato@petaflop.com.br. We answer within 15 days. If the answer doesn't resolve it, you can complain to Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).
If you are in the European Union, the GDPR may also apply to this processing. The rights above largely overlap with the ones it grants, and the same address handles those requests.
7. Products have their own policies
This policy covers petaflop.com.br and nothing else. Each Petaflop product processes different data for different reasons, and has its own policy and terms:

8. Changes to this policy
The date at the top shows the last change. Any change that materially affects your rights is announced on this page before it takes effect. Previous versions stay in the site repository's history.
